Niagara Workforce Planning Board (NWPB) in partnership with Literacy Link Niagara is pleased to announce the release of Niagara Occupational Profiles, an easy to use, web-based resource tool designed to assist career counsellors and job seekers to create career, education, and training decisions.

This resource is available and accessible to all members of the community via the link below:

“We are excited to share this incredible new career planning resource with the Niagara community,” says Trudy Parsons, Executive Director of NWPB. “The Profiles have been released for just a few days and we’ve already had extremely positive feedback from our employment services partners on how valuable the information is to their staff and clients.”

Background: The Niagara Labour Market Plan (2009) identified a need to examine Niagara’s high growth and declining industries and to profile common skills and competencies across occupations. Using local labour market information and essential skills data, this user-friendly and quick reference resource supports the decision-making process.

Currently the database contains 42 profiles. Additional profiles will continue to be added on an ongoing basis.

Niagara Workforce Planning Board is among one of 25 community-based, not-for-profit organizations that play a leadership role in local labour force development at the grassroots level.
