TWENTY VALLEY TOURISM ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES NEW GENERAL MANAGER
| Submitted: January 07th, 2010 By: |
The Twenty Valley Tourism Association (TVTA) is pleased to announce that Mr. JD Pachereva has accepted the position of General Manager, effective January 4, 2010.
Mr. Pachereva comes to the TVTA with enthusiasm and a keen understanding of what the TVTA is trying to achieve, having been the town’s Council representative on the Association’s Board for the past year. His customer service skill set has developed over the past six years as Territory Sales Manager for the Golden Horseshoe with Pine River Cheese and Butter Co-Operative. Previously, Mr. Pachereva was part of a successful family grocery business for numerous years and he managed the family’s Grimsby retail location, Grimsby IGA.
A married father of two, Mr. Pachereva was born and raised in the community which provides him valuable insight into the wants and needs of the community. He has served two terms on Council for the Town of Lincoln, serving Ward 2, and currently serves as Chair of the Infrastructure Committee. He has also been actively involved in the community through a number of sports and community groups holding various executive positions.
This appointment allows Mr. Pachereva’s career to come full circle. He holds a B.A. in Geography from the University of Western Ontario and gained practical experience as an economist with the International Travel section with Statistics Canada in Ottawa. His tourism and business background provides him the skills necessary to spread the news to visitors and the local citizens that the Twenty Valley is not simply a destination, but a way of life, and is looking forward to such an opportunity.
“Following a thorough recruitment process, the TVTA Executive Committee was impressed with Mr. Pachereva’s passion and dedication to the Lincoln community and feel that the association is well positioned to face the next phase of evolution under his leadership”, said AJ McLaughlin, TVTA President.
The position came available when, after three and a half years in the role, Lisa Haddow presented her resignation to pursue a new career opportunity. Lisa will remain with the Association until late January through the transition, at which time she will join The Good Earth Cooking School and Winery team in Beamsville. She would like to offer her appreciation to everyone that has made her time with the TVTA pleasant and memorable.
The Twenty Valley Tourism Association is proud to provide a truly memorable and distinct experience to its guests and to offer exciting and positive opportunities to its members. The TVTA represents 100 members including wineries, accommodations, specialty retailers, restaurants, attractions and services.
