Port Colbornes Top Hat Ceremony celebrates the opening of the Welland Canal and start of the 2017 shopping season by welcoming the Captain of the First Downbound Vessel.

Who:  Mayor John Maloney along with representatives from upper levels of government and the marine industry.

When:  Monday, March 20, 2017 
8:00 a.m. Fair Trade Pancake Breakfast
8:45 a.m. Ceremony Begins
Entertainment provided by McKay Public School.

Celebrate the Opening of the Welland Canal in the City of Port Colborne Mariner’s Celebration - Sunday, March 19th 7:00 p.m.

St. James and St. Brendan Anglican Church, 55 Charlotte Street It will be a night filled with music, dance, piping, and fun for young and old alike. There will be plenty of singing from our "mass choir" under the direction of Bill Outred.  Youth from Sea Cadets and Navy League will also be participating.   Mayor John Maloney will be present to offer his greetings.

After the service, there will be a reception at the Guild Hall with refreshments for everyone, as well as live music.
