Winners Announced from Hospice Niagara’s Sold Out 5 Car Draw
ST CATHARINES, ON (August 1, 2016) - Hospice Niagara announced the winners of their 8th Annual 5 Car Draw, which took place at the St. Catharines Rotary Ribfest in Montebello Park. Congratulations to:

“This was a stellar year for the draw,” says Carol Nagy, Executive Director at Hospice Niagara. “The community truly embraces this fundraiser, which resulted in selling tickets for the first time in its eight year history.
This year’s proceeds of $250,000 net will stay in Niagara. Buying a 5 Car Draw tickets means helping loved ones, friends, neighbours and colleagues, who have a life-limiting illness, to optimize their quality of life and to support their families and caregivers.
Hospice Niagara’s focus is on improving the quality of life for adults and children living with life-limiting illnesses, death, dying, grief and loss. Hospice Niagara operates the region’s residential hospice – The Stabler Centre. As well, Hospice Niagara offers a variety of community programs and services to provide compassionate comfort and support to clients and their families throughout the care continuum. Last year, over 15,000 people across Niagara were supported.
Carol remarks “Staff and volunteers understand that life is precious. They provide exceptional support, care, and comfort, so that clients may spend their time living and know that their family is supported throughout the journey and in their grieving,” remarks Carol. “We rely on community support to help us deliver quality hospice palliative services we all want for everyone, everywhere, every time, at no cost.“
“We are so thankful to everyone involved. Since 2009 almost $1.1 million net has been raised in support of hospice palliative care in the Niagara region.” remarks Alicia Merry, Fund Development and Communications Manager, Hospice Niagara. “The draw has grown tremendously over the years and has become a part of summer in Niagara. This milestone couldn’t have been reached without our wonderful partners, supporters and volunteers who work tirelessly to make it a success every year.”
